Amazon Elasticsearch Service will now provide snapshots on an hourly basis, where previously it only did daily snapshots. Amazon believes that this change will provide more granular recovery points for organizations.
Hourly snapshots will be automatically enabled on Elasticsearch version 5.3 or higher and the snapshots will be retained for 14 days.
ManageEngine adds new backup and recovery features in ADManager Plus
ManageEngine has announced new backup and recovery capabilities in ADManager Plus, its Active Directory management and recovery solution. ADManager Plus can now backup and recover any Active Directory object, including users, organizational units (OUs), group policy objects (GPOs), groups and their members.
“Organizations are looking for IT management solutions that will not only help them achieve their business objectives, but will also minimize downtime, reduce costs and eliminate the need to use multiple solutions to meet their needs,” said Manikandan Thangaraj, director of program management at ManageEngine. “With the addition of backup and recovery capabilities, ADManager Plus can both manage user identities and safeguard data from disaster.”
BitTitan introduces new Microsoft Teams migration capabilities
BitTitan announced new capabilities in MigrationWiz, its cloud office migration tool. MigrationWiz now supports migration of the Microsoft Teams platform.
BitTitan explained that a recent Spiceworks survey revealed that 21 percent of businesses use Microsoft Teams, and that number is expected to rise as more end users move to Office 365. By adding Microsoft Teams migration functionality, BitTitan hopes to enable IT teams to support that demand.
BitTitan is also launching a Collaboration License, which will enable a “lift-and-shift migration of a Teams instance from one Office 365 tenant to another.”
