Fluent Bit is a super fast, lightweight, and highly scalable logging and metrics processor and forwarder best suited for cloud and containerized environments.
The project’s architecture is both strong and durable, as well as lightweight and easy to transport. It is designed to handle a large volume of data quickly and efficiently, while using minimal CPU and memory resources. Additionally, it can seamlessly move data from any source to any destination.
The project is proven across distributed cloud and container environments and is highly available with I/O handlers to store data for disaster recovery. It also includes granular management of data parsing and routing and can optimize security.
The latest version, Fluent Bit v2.1.0, was released on Wednesday and adds hot reload support so that users can reload a configuration without stopping. Users can also convert their Logs to metrics to extract information from log data and create metrics such as counters, gauges, and histograms.
Other improvements include Log Metadata support, Podman Container Metrics, and the extension of Metrics Collection.
Fluent Bit is a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) graduated project under the umbrella of Fluentd.
