SolarWinds announced updates to its IT operations management offering (which includes the Orion Suite and its APM suite) that offer new and expanded Azure support that encompasses on-premises and cloud environments.
The company has added support for Azure SQL Database Managed Instance as the Orion database, helping customers reduce management overhead and total cost of ownership (TCO) associated with traditional database deployments.
The APM solutions AppOptics and Pingdom monitor key Azure services and now have extended support for applications running on Azure App Service.
The updates also include improved monitoring and alerting capabilities using the Service Configuration Monitor (SCM), editing capabilities in Orion Maps, the ability to integrate SolarWinds Service Desk with the Orion platform, and a cost calculator for Azure.
“Today’s tech pros require greater flexibility, enhanced security, and improved full-stack visibility to successfully manage the web of applications and workloads spanning on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments, like Microsoft Azure,” said Sandy Orlando, senior vice president, products at SolarWinds. “These new features and solution enhancements announced today reinforce our commitment to and focus on what matters most to customers: solving IT management problems the way tech pros need them solved and delivering solutions compatible with the environments they use today—and where they’ll grow tomorrow.”
Microsoft and SolarWinds have partnered to provide an integration that will ease customers’ migration to the public cloud, SolarWinds said in a post.
