Intel and SAP SE have created a strategic partnership in order to give customers access to more effective and eco-friendly SAP software. This collaboration will help customers gain scalability, flexibility, and the capacity to combine existing SAP software.
Through this partnership, Intel is focusing on providing efficient and secure solutions for SAP to run on 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. These processors are able to generate higher numbers on SAP Application Performance Standard benchmark tests when compared to prior generations of Xeon processors.
Furthermore, Intel is able to provide virtual machine (VM) sizes of up to 24TB at the moment, with the aim of increasing the VM size to 32TB via the RISE with SAP solution.
“Many of the world’s largest SAP S/4 HANA systems run on Intel architecture,” said Christoph Schell, chief commercial officer at Intel. “The new cloud computing experience powered by 4th Gen Xeon will not only help SAP customers meet growing compliance and security requirements, it will also enable them to apply advanced technologies for faster, more secure, integrated business processes.”
Beyond collaboration for larger instance types, Intel and SAP will explore use cases to leverage confidential computing for SAP HANA Cloud, SAP’s database-as-a-service offeirng.
