Quest Software has released a new solution that is designed to help companies manage, monitor, and control their data and IT infrastructure.
Foglight Cloud is built on top of Quest’s Foglight offering, which is a performance monitoring tool for databases. This new offering expands that functionality to infrastructure.
According to Foglight, with all the different databases and cloud infrastructure that IT teams need to manage today, it can be easy for their total cost of ownership of these platforms to grow faster than they’d like.
This new offering helps companies deal with this challenge by providing insights into the various services and platforms in their environment.
Foglight Cloud can provide insights into several platforms, including, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, Hyper-V, SQL Server, Redshift, SAP Hana, and Redis.
Some of the specific capabilities include wait-event and wait-state analysis, alarm workflow and templates, query insights, and dynamic data operations.
“The line between cloud and on-premise environments has blurred so dramatically that the push for cloud data optimization and cost reduction has become an infrastructure-wide business issue,” said Heath Thompson, president and general manager at Quest Software. “Business teams need a new path to improve financial efficiency, decrease their TCO and get the most return on investment from their data. Improved cloud data observability shines a bright light on the best path to follow.”
