The security company Fortanix has announced File System Encryption, a new feature that is part of the Fortanix Data Security Manager.
With File System Encryption, data can be encrypted at the file system level, which is useful in scenarios where different user groups need access to different parts of a database.
Organizations can set up and manage agents that handle the encryption, allowing for agents to be easily scaled as needed.
They can also apply granular policy-based decryption to make sure that only authorized users are able to access plaintext data.
It also offers centralized life cycle management of encryption keys, which are stored in FIPS-140-2 Level 3 HSM, either SaaS or on-premise.
“As data security becomes increasingly complex, offering organizations the ability to manage encryption across all levels through a unified platform creates huge value,” said Anuj Jaiswal, vice president of products at Fortanix. “The addition of Fortanix File System Encryption to our already robust Data Security Manager offering gives enterprises a one-stop shop for all of their encryption and data security needs.”
