Lenovo is helping make zero trust a more achievable reality by providing deep visibility and protection beyond the operating system and down to the component level with its new solution, ThinkShield Firmware Assurance.
According to Gartner’s predictions, only 10% of large enterprises will have a mature and measurable zero trust program by 2026. Lenovo explained that a lack of component level visibility makes it hard for companies to determine the level of risk coming from their hardware and firmware.
ThinkShield Firmware Assurance provides detailed attestation measurements for components, which can then be analyzed to assess their risk level. It uses an embedded controller to attest components and configuration during the boot process to provide platform root of trust.
According to Lenovo, deploying this new solution will provide IT teams with better visibility into their PC fleets and networks.
“Lenovo’s continued innovation in computing is delivering on its commitment to enable smarter AI for all, and cybersecurity is one of the most critical elements to how and where AI is adopted. This is a key driver in why we focused on supply chain, below-OS, and above-OS security,” said Nima Baiati, executive director & GM of commercial cybersecurity solutions at Lenovo. “ThinkShield Firmware Assurance is a unique solution designed to help customers better manage and mitigate risk with more insight and confidence.”
Overall, ThinkShield is a portfolio of security solutions from Lenovo that also includes solutions related to platform and device security, threat and data protection, and security management tools.
ThinkShield Firmware Assurance is the latest addition to that portfolio and it is available today.
