Technician managing IT services

Exabeam  today announced that its New-Scale Security Operations platform is the first to be compatible with the Open API standard (OAS).  According to the company announcement, this compatibility gives security operations center (SOC) teams “the power to quickly create automations and playbooks with their best-of-breed portfolios and can ditch the disjointed, monolithic systems that provide merely ‘good enough’ security.”

By embracing OAS, Exabeam’s platform allows for the integration of thousands of OAS products, which speeds the creation of automations and playbooks. A new developer experience in the platform eases buidling, testing, monitoring and deployment, the company said in its announcement.

A 2023 study of network security by IT management company ManageEngine found that 94 percent of respondents noted they have used different security tools to protect data, monitor user access, adhere to compliance mandates, and gain visibility into cloud activities. Also, 96% of respondents indicated they will be looking for a single solution to manage all of it.

“For too long, security teams have been forced to work within walled gardens, making do with fragmented, rigid systems that waste valuable time,” Steve Wilson, Exabeam’s chief product officer, said in the announcement. “At Exabeam, we’re shattering that model. Today, we deliver a unified, open ecosystem that allows users to take control, integrate the best tools, and customize their security operations without the roadblocks of traditional platforms. The era of truly open security operations is here— and Exabeam is at the forefront, leading the charge toward a future where security is as dynamic as the threats we face.”

Analytics for threat detection

New-Scale Analytics for threat detection learns over time and applies business factors to risk scoring, reducing noise and eliminating manual tuning. The integration of late-arriving event logs gives users a complete, updated view of threats for investigation. Coupled with the generative AI capabilities of Exabeam Copilot, the New-Scale Analytics Threat Center delivers threat summaries and plain-language search.

Further, threats can be grouped in Threat Center by behavioral and rule-based detections so analysts can understand and address the scope of the threat.

As part of the announcement, the company said its LogRhythm SIEM platform improves upon its warm tier search capabilities and supports Cloudflare Beat for visibility into logs stored in AWS S3.

Finally, the NetMon network monitoring tool is now available across the Exabeam portfolio, the company said, providing native access to network telemetry that delivers insights into network traffic and extracts key data points.
