Author: Bob Quillin

Bob Quillin is founder & CEO of ControlTheory. Dstl8 from ControlTheory is the runtime feedback loop for AI-speed engineering. Where observability tells teams what already happened, Dstl8 closes the loop back into development itself, without the cost and complexity of traditional observability systems. The Dstl8 platform applies Telemetry Distillation to surface sentiment, patterns, anomalies, and severity at the source, then reasons across topology, code graphs, and runtime signals to pinpoint problems in staging and production, with zero alert rules to write. ControlTheory are the creators of the popular open source TUI Gonzo, a real-time logging and AI analysis tool. As an early AI pioneer, Bob developed AI solutions for satellite and network telemetry analysis for NASA, Stanford Telecommunications, and Network Equipment Technologies (NET). Previous to ControlTheory, he was co-founder, CEO of StackEngine which was acquired by Oracle Cloud to develop their Kubernetes and cloud native services. As Vice President of Developer Relations at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), he led CNCF engagement and sponsorship, OCI developer relations, advocacy, engagement, and lighthouse adoption. Bob has focused his career on applying automation to simplify complex cloud, IT, and developer challenges. Bob was CEO of Austin-based cloud monitoring SaaS startup CopperEgg (acquired by IDERA in 2013) and held executive and startup leadership roles at nLayers, EMC, and VMware. He holds a BA in Mathematical Science from the Johns Hopkins University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University.
